As you delve deeper into Donkey Kong Bananza's expansive campaign, you'll encounter numerous new environments. To revisit earlier zones, the Warp Gong system becomes indispensable. This functionality unlocks upon reaching the Hilltop Layer, specifically at level SL200. These gongs are strategically placed in the primary settlements of each layer, identifiable by a blue icon resembling an archway over a circle. Players should seek out a glowing triangular platform within the village markets to locate these crucial structures.
Activating a Warp Gong is as straightforward as giving it a mighty punch, Donkey Kong style. This action summons the Eelavator, a colossal, serpentine creature that facilitates travel to other layers. The game imposes no charges for utilizing the Eelavator's services, allowing players to freely backtrack and retrieve any forgotten items or complete overlooked objectives without financial constraint.
For navigating within a specific layer, particularly in its larger sub-regions, relying solely on walking or Turf Surfing can be time-consuming. Fortunately, the game provides alternative rapid transit options. Checkpoints, often found as golden-encased tuning forks in significant locations, serve as convenient teleportation points. Upon freeing a tuning fork from its golden prison, it transforms into a checkpoint. To instantly transport to one, simply open the minimap and select the desired checkpoint nearest to your intended destination.
Beyond checkpoints, players can also establish "Getaways" with the help of Architectones. These house-like fractones, characterized by blue walls and yellow ceilings, can be found throughout the layers. By paying a fee in gold, an Architectone will construct a Getaway.
