The spirit of community and compassion came together in early March when Flyers Charities, Michael’s Way, and several Flyers players welcomed Joyce and Ronda Burns into their newly refurbished home. This remarkable transformation was the culmination of the 2025 Building Hope for Kids initiative, which aimed to provide a comfortable and supportive environment for families facing challenging circumstances. Over six weeks, this collaborative effort involved Fastrack Construction and Ashley Furniture, who worked tirelessly to renovate every corner of the house. The project focused on creating an expansive and inviting space where Ronda, an eight-year-old leukemia patient, and her family could find solace and joy during her ongoing treatment.

The renovation process began in late January and saw numerous organizations pooling their resources and expertise. Under the leadership of Fastrack Construction, the team addressed structural issues and ensured that the home was not only aesthetically pleasing but also safe and secure. Meanwhile, Ashley Furniture contributed modern furnishings that would last for years to come. The Flyers wives took charge of the interior design, carefully curating each room to meet the family's specific needs and preferences. As Chris McElwee, Founder of Michael’s Way, emphasized, this project exemplified the strength of community support and the power of coming together for a common cause. Tara A. Kelly from Ashley Furniture echoed this sentiment, highlighting the importance of creating a sanctuary where families like the Burns can find peace and healing.

As Ronda and Joyce stepped into their new home, the overwhelming sense of happiness and relief was palpable. This transformation was more than just a physical change; it symbolized hope and love in the face of adversity. Blair Listino, President of Flyers Charities, noted that the project's true essence lay in providing a space where the family could focus on what truly matters—love, recovery, and time together. The Today Show featured this heartwarming story, capturing the collaborative efforts and emotional moments leading up to the big reveal. Additionally, On the Fly Productions will release a documentary titled "Hope Lives Here: A Flyers Charities Story," offering an in-depth look at the project and the unwavering support surrounding Ronda's journey. In times of hardship, such acts of kindness remind us of the profound impact we can have by working together for the greater good.
