Austin-based Es Vedra Cinemas is introducing a new family entertainment brand, Hooky, in Hutto. This marks a shift from the previously planned EVO Entertainment project. The expansive 54,400 square foot center will feature an array of attractions including gaming areas, bowling lanes, a quick-service concession stand, a scratch kitchen, and eight movie theaters equipped with cutting-edge technology such as IMAX and Dolby Atmos. Additionally, event spaces are available for gatherings or parties. Despite changes in branding and partnerships, the venue remains on schedule to open its doors in May.

Es Vedra Cinemas collaborated closely with Helms Workshop to craft the Hooky identity. Following a split from Elevate Entertainment Group (EEG) earlier this year, Es Vedra retained ownership of several brands including Violet Crown Cinemas and ShowBiz Cinemas. EEG kept the EVO name after their assets were divided.

Revolutionizing Entertainment Spaces

The Hooky facility aims to redefine what it means to enjoy family-friendly entertainment. By offering a diverse selection of activities under one roof, it caters not only to those seeking cinematic experiences but also to families looking for interactive fun through games and bowling. With state-of-the-art auditoriums and flexible event rooms, the center ensures visitors have access to top-notch amenities tailored for various occasions.

Hooky's commitment extends beyond mere entertainment provision; it focuses on creating memorable moments within its walls. For instance, the inclusion of an IMAX theater allows audiences to immerse themselves fully into blockbuster films while enjoying surround sound via Dolby Atmos systems. Meanwhile, younger guests can explore the game room or participate in friendly competitions at the bowling alley. Furthermore, the availability of both a grab-and-go station and a scratch kitchen supports different dining preferences among patrons.

Corporate Rebranding and Strategic Partnerships

This rebranding signifies more than just a change in name—it reflects Es Vedra Cinemas' evolving strategy post-separation from Elevate Entertainment Group. Working alongside Helms Workshop enabled them to develop a distinct visual and experiential identity that resonates with modern audiences. Such moves underscore the company’s dedication towards innovation across all aspects of operations.

After parting ways with EEG back in February, Es Vedra Cinemas embarked upon establishing itself independently without compromising quality service delivery. Underpinning this effort is the continued management of other successful ventures like Violet Crown Cinemas and ShowBiz Cinemas. While EEG now solely manages the EVO brand, Es Vedra has carved out its niche by launching Hooky—an endeavor aimed squarely at enhancing community engagement through dynamic entertainment offerings. This strategic pivot demonstrates foresight and adaptability essential for thriving amidst industry shifts.
