Two iconic titles from the arcade era are set to make their digital comeback. Taito has announced the release of Time Gal HD Remaster and Ninja Hayate HD Remaster on Steam for PC users starting April 10, priced at 4,180 yen each. These remastered versions will support multiple languages including English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese.

Both games were previously only accessible through the TAITO LD Game Collection for Nintendo Switch, which launched exclusively in Japan last December. The Western market has yet to see a release of this collection. Each game offers unique gameplay experiences rooted in classic Laser Disc technology, providing players with interactive anime adventures that blend storytelling with strategic timing.

Time Gal HD Remaster invites players into a time-traveling narrative where they assist Reika, a time protection officer, as she chases the villainous Luda across different historical periods. Players must navigate through various challenges using precise inputs to avoid traps and combat adversaries. Meanwhile, Ninja Hayate HD Remaster sets the stage in feudal Japan, where the protagonist Hayate embarks on a perilous mission to rescue a kidnapped princess from an evil ninja clan. This game features randomized routes, ensuring no two playthroughs are identical.

The revival of these classic titles not only pays homage to the golden age of arcade gaming but also introduces a new generation to the innovative use of Laser Disc technology. By preserving and enhancing these treasures, Taito fosters a bridge between past and present, celebrating the rich history of video games while encouraging players to explore and appreciate the evolution of interactive entertainment.
