Highlighting the achievements and potential of women in the music industry, a unique event is set to take place at Hotel Ziggy this Friday. The occasion, titled "Here’s to Her Voice," serves as both a celebration of Women's History Month and a fundraising effort for the Global Fund for Women. This special event, orchestrated by UCLA fourth-year student Grace Masura, marks her capstone project and the inaugural event for her production company, GEM Productions.

The evening promises to be an inspiring gathering, featuring four emerging female musicians who will share their talents with an eager audience. Through partnerships with local studios, these artists will also receive valuable recording sessions, further supporting their careers. Collaborations with organizations like Women in Music UCLA add layers of community-building activities, ensuring the event fosters connections among women in the industry. The lineup includes talented performers such as UCLA students amelie kalia and Bree Frances, alongside Los Angeles-based artists Bella Fiske and Madeline The Person.

Masura's vision for the event extends beyond mere entertainment; it aims to create a supportive network where women can thrive and inspire one another. Her dedication to uplifting female voices has earned praise from colleagues and mentors alike. Music industry lecturer Stig Edgren commended Masura's organizational skills and innovative approach, noting that her passion and diplomacy have been key to the event's success. Moreover, her supervisor at Universal Music Group, Carly Schwartz, highlighted Masura's ability to excel in diverse roles, underscoring the importance of creating inclusive spaces for women in a traditionally male-dominated field.

Masura's journey in event planning began during her sophomore year at UCLA, where she gained invaluable experience working at venues and record labels. Despite challenges, including a last-minute pivot due to unforeseen circumstances, she remained committed to her goal of celebrating women in music. As she looks toward the future, Masura envisions a career in event planning or music marketing, driven by a desire to continue championing underrepresented voices in the industry. Her efforts exemplify the power of perseverance and the positive impact of fostering a more inclusive and supportive environment for all.
